Victim Impact Panels (VIP), by Alamo Center, offer valuable assistance to offenders in fulfilling court and probation requirements. By attending VIP sessions, participants gain essential insights into the serious and far-reaching consequences of drunk and impaired driving on victims, their families, and communities.
During VIP sessions, participants have the opportunity to hear firsthand from victims of DWI incidents, learning about the profound impacts on various aspects of their lives, including financial, physical, emotional, and religious/spiritual well-being. The objectives of VIP sessions include:
- Defining drunk and impaired driving.
- Describing current trends related to drunk and impaired driving.
- Providing examples illustrating the dangers of drunk and impaired driving.
- Explaining the multifaceted impact of drunk and impaired driving on victims.
- Facilitating discussions about personal accountability for drunk and impaired driving.

The Victim Impact Panel is live and presented by someone who has been personally affected by a DWI. The presentation will include a personal testimony on the tragic consequences of DWIs.
The program is 2 hours in length and is designed to increase the awareness of participants by educating them on the impact of alcohol and/or drugs on others and themselves.
