Section 521.371-521.377 of the Texas Transportation Code states that if a person is convicted of a drug related misdemeanor or felony, their driver’s license will be suspended for six months. To restore their license, they must attend a drug education program approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and successfully complete it. If they fail to complete the program, their license will be revoked indefinitely until they complete the education program.
If the person did not have a driver’s license at the time of the offense, they will not be issued one for 180 days.
